easter

had a nice lunch with nowell and cj at one of the only places we could find open - thankfully one of our favorites. didn't expect cj to come to town today - he loves his new place so much and, after all, it is a weekend day. he rode his bike 90 miles yesterday and 50 the day before and was going to some dirt jumps before heading our here to get some more of his stuff.

his new place is SO him. a cabin in the woods with texas-sized mountains (i.e. big hills) to climb and rocky paths to ride the bike on and creeks and rivers and all kinds of cj things. the only thing wrong with it is i miss him. but that's what moms do.

the bluebonnets and wildflowers are out like you wouldn't believe this year. i had a feeling they might be as cold as the winter was and as much rain as we got as the spring neared. it makes me miss our place in bellville so much - and so much else. but there will be new things and better things. it's hard to imagine sometimes but i know there will be.

i planted some marigolds and mint earlier - when i got home from lunch. now i just have to remember to water them. bad habit of mine for years and years.

my friend paula was in town visiting her son and his family - including her two granddaughters and she spent the night with me last night and we had a good visit. there's nothing like old friends. not in the "old" as in years way - as in the been friends for lots of years way.

the sun and rain are playing games with one another. right now the sun is winning - sort of. we could use a little rain - not too much. i did remember to water my marigolds after planting them.

grateful for many things today.
